I found out two days ago that my friend, Saundra, that I have known since the first grade has cancer. Cancer is such an ugly word. I always associate it with ultimate doom, of course, that isn't always the case. I know in my heart that the Lord is in control here, I know this, but my heart is aching for my friend and her family. I love Saundra as if she were my sister. She knows more about me than anybody else. We literally grew up together. We lived in the same little town for 18 years. We both graduated from the same high school. We both married within two months of each other. I was in her wedding!! Our daughters are two days apart, they are both 24 years old! I was with her when she had her first baby, a son, when she was only fifteen. We have shared laughter and tears, secrets and fears. Even though we live miles apart, we will always be in each others hearts. I love her and pray for her healing. She is a Christian woman, she loves her family, her daughter, her son, she has two granddaughters and a devoted husband of almost 26, come this July 3. She is only 43 years old. I pray that the chemo will eradicate all of the cells and she will be completely cancer free.
Lord, I lift my friend, Saundra, up to you, I pray for healing, I thank you for Saundra's healing, Lord. I pray for a quick recovery from Saundra's surgery, I pray for no symptoms from the chemo and I thank you, heavenly father, for your care and healing for Saundra. Lord, I know you are in control here, I pray for your peace and understanding for Saundra and her family, and I thank you for healing, understanding, mercy and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
I love you, Saundra, "you are healed, by the stripes of HIS blood".
