Beware, the brown recluse!

Within the last 3 weeks ,two people we know, were bitten, by the brown recluse spider. This spider can be potentially deadly. My cousin, who lives in FL, and Tiffany's boyfriend, who lives in South Bend were both bitten.

Shelia, my cousin, was bitten while mowing the lawn. She was bitten on the arm, she was in extreme pain, she was feeling ill, and her arm began to swell. She was rushed to the ER and they weren't sure what was wrong with her. She was then rushed to, Tampa's University Hospital, where they found out it was, in fact, a brown recluse that had bitten her. She ended up having a chunk of her arm cut out, and then had to have plastic surgery to repair the damaged area. Ouch!!!!

Last night, Tiffany's boyfriend called her and let her know that he had been sick since she left last week. He finally went to the hospital and they discovered, he too, had been bitten by a brown recluse. He was bitten on his stomach! He doesn't have health insurance, so in order to save money, they cut the site out without any local anesthesia!!! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!!! OMG!!! I would have passed out! I guess he's feeling a little better, thank goodness.

So, be careful, these spiders can be deadly and they definitely leave their mark if they do bite.
