My name is, Gizmo, and I'm an addict.

My cat, Gizmo, is addicted to rubber bands and elastic hair ties. I'm not joking! He must be able to smell the hair ties. He can find them anywhere. He has climbed on my dresser, onto the bathroom counter, on my desk, on my shelf where I keep my personal things, just to get to a hair tie. He has actually pulled my purse off of a chair, onto the floor, and he dug until he found a hair tie! The horrible part to this is, he eats them! He wasn't feeling well last week and I was ready to take him to the vet. I thought, oh my gosh, there is something wrong with this poor cat. He had been throwing up quite a bit and I was getting rather worried. I kept checking to see what he had eaten to try and figure out what was making him sick. Then, I was thinking, it could be hairballs, but that wasn't the case at all.

At first, just small pieces of rubber bands were showing up in his vomit. On Sunday afternoon, I was sweeping the kitchen floor and I noticed this, good sized ball of grossness, under the table. I bent down to pick it up and it was a ball of rubber bands and hair ties that the cat had upchucked!!!! Super gross!!! He is lucky that he didn't choke to death on those things!! I now have to hide the hair ties and rubber bands so that he doesn't eat them and possibly die from eating them!

He seems to be feeling better, thank goodness. I have to be really cautious as to where I put away my hair accessories.
