The Secret Lives of Bees, what a wonderful movie. I have to say it was the best movie that I've seen in a very long time. Dakota Fanning is such an amazing young lady! Her performance was unbelievable for a 14 year old, that young girl deserves an Oscar. Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifa were equally deserving of an Oscar.
I actually went to see it alone. I always enjoy movies when I see them alone. I can really escape and get into the movie when I'm alone. I had no distractions, I could actually concentrate on the movie and not worry about anyone around me.
This magnificent movie touched on all basis as far as emotions. There were moments when you laughed and definitely moments when one couldn't help but cry. It really moved me.
The movie was set during the civil rights movement. Blacks had just won the right to vote. There was so much hate and violence going on during that time period. All due to a difference in skin color,it was so disheartening to watch.
If you are wondering what movie to see and aren't sure what to watch I would definitely recommend, The Secret Life of Bees. It truly is a gem of a movie.
